QUESTIONS
Screen Printing
- Can I print on various sized items? Tee shirts from youth medium to adult 6XL can be printed together at a 12" x 12" design size. Youth x-small and youth small as well as infant and toddler sizes will need to be screen printed with a smaller sized print. We can print both youth and adult shirts together if the design size is made to fit the smallest shirt being screen printed. Some customers prefer to have two sizes of artwork made, one for the adult and one for the youth. When printing a small order, one size of shirt is the economical choice.
- Can I print on various shirt colors? As long as the same ink color can be used on all tee shirts, there should be no problem. Your design will be placed on the different colored backgrounds for your approval, just be sure your design works on all your color choices. If we do have to change the ink color in the middle of a run we will need to charge an additional fee. In some cases a white underprint is required to ensure that the design works on all color choices. In such a case we will need to charge an additional fee for the extra screen and additional color being printed.
- Can I print on a variety of products? Tee shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts and most athletic performance apparel can be combined into one screen printing order. The fabric on jackets and some athletic performance apparel can require a separate process and treatment and will need to be set up as a separate order.
- Can you screen print photo realistic artwork? Absolutely! 4-color process designs need to be printed on white or light colored garments (we would need to add an additional white printer for light colored garments). We also offer what is called Simulated Process Printing. This process alows us to print photo realistic designs on dark garments. The amount of art time involved with both of these processes is quite extensive and cost a bit more to produce than traditional spot color printing. Many times spot color can be more affordable and effective. We are happy to work this through for you to find the best colors for your design.
